BUTTE COUNTY — Multiple law enforcement agencies have responded to Butte County for an “active” and “ongoing” situation, and officials are asking people to stay away.

According to a post on Facebook from the Butte County Sheriff’s Office, the response on Thursday is happening in the area of 3375 West near Arco.

The sheriff’s office wants people to avoid the area of 2800 North and 2900 North.

It’s unclear what is specifically happening, but news tips into the newsroom began around 10:30 a.m. Viewers said they have seen what appears to be SWAT vehicles on scene.

Idaho State Police told EastIdahoNews.com that law enforcement has got it “under control” and contained. Police said there is no threat to the public right now.

EastIdahoNews.com was able to confirm that the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office has responded to help.

No further information has been released.
