Line of Duty star Vicky McClure chatted all things filming in Belfast when she joined Patrick Kielty on the Late Late Show on Friday night.

The English actress who is known for playing Detective Inspector Kate Fleming on the BBC police drama joined the Co Down host on the late-night talk show to speak about her new daytime clubbing event.

However, it wasn't long until Vicky was faced with the question that she and her co-stars Martin Compston and Fermanagh's own Adrian Dunbar always get asked - when are we getting series 7?

Welcoming her to the show, Patrick asked how it felt to be back as she is "no stranger" to the island after filming the hit show.

Vicky said: "It feels great to be back. Straight away you just meet lovely, friendly people.

"The food here - every time I eat anywhere, it's just amazing."

Reflecting on the show's success, Vicky said despite knowing how good the script was going into the project, they could have never expected the reaction it had.

Patrick continued: "Whenever you were working on that show, actors say this all the time that 'we worked on it, and we became a family' but for yourself and Adrian Dunbar and Martin Compston that kind of is true.

"You guys lived together in Belfast."

Vicky replied: "We stayed in an apartment where it was like we were next door to each other and it was quite specific that Martin's flat was the party flat, Aidy's was like the cooking and then you come to mind to learn lines and do the professional stuff.

"It was a good flow that we had going on but we did pretty much live together."And then all the comments start coming through.

After sharing a clip of a recent reunion in London between Vicky, Martin and Adrian which sparked Line of Duty rumours, Paddy hinted at the burning question of will there be a series 7 of the show.

"No news," Vicky laughed

"We've said it a million times that coming back to Belfast and shooting it again would be amazing and the dream because we love working together.

"We love how much the audience loves the show.

"The last series we shot in Covid and it was hard, you know, we didn't go out and to be honest, when we do shoot Line of Duty, we have the craic.

"So it would be lovely to come back and properly enjoy it."

Paddy was quick to remind the audience about asking Ruth Jones, creator of Gavin and Stacey, would we see it back on our screens again last year where she gave a similar answer to Vicky before the 2024 Christmas special was announced.

"So let's just remember this moment when whenever the show comes back," he laughed.

Other guests on Friday included singer Christy Moore, Golden Globe nominees Colm Meaney and Paul Reiser and stand-up comedian Des Bishop.
