Manchester United football legend Eric Cantona is to give a "live, unscripted interview" in Derry. The French forward, who was voted Manchester United's best ever player in 2003 by the Inside United magazine, has a cult like following thanks to his grace as a player and charisma.
His football career, which seen him feature for a host of French clubs before moving to Leeds and then Manchester in the 1990s, came to an end when he unexpectedly announced his retired at the age of just 30 in 1997.
He will be at the Millenium Forum this November, marking his first-ever appearance in Derry.

The promoters state: “For the first time ever Eric ‘The King’ Cantona will be coming to the Millennium Forum in an exclusive evening like no other.
"After signing for the club in 1992 Cantona soon became the King of Old Trafford and is still widely regarded as the most iconic and influential player in the club's history!
The promoters continue: “In a live unscripted interview Cantona will take the stage to share the magical moments, unforgettable memories and stories about his glittering career. This is truly once in a lifetime opportunity to get up close and personal to the Manchester United Icon.”
Tickets are on sale now via the Milennium Forum website and range from £99, through £189, to £399, with various packages including meet and greet available for the event on November 11, 2025.
