IDAHO FALLS – If you need to make a trip to the garbage dump in Idaho Falls, you better do it now.
The Bonneville County Transfer Station at 2455 Hemmert Avenue is closing Wednesday, Dec. 6 for the next 14 days, according to a news release from Bonneville County Emergency Management.
“This closure is necessary for maintenance at the facility,” the news release says.
Limited items will still be accepted during the closure. Those items include tires, freon items like refrigerators, freezers and A/C units, as well as used motor oil (up to 5 gallons) and lead acid batteries.
It’s open until 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Through Dec. 20, all other municipal and household trash can be taken to the Peterson Hill Landfill at 9449 East Sunnyside Road. Metal and cardboard recycling will be accepted at the Bonneville County Hatch Pit at 3690 Recycle Road.
The landfill is open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. The hatch pit is open the same days from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
