Police in Co Down have launched an investigation following reports of a sudden death at a property in Newry.
Emergency services were called to the scene in Clanrye Park this morning, Thursday, March 20. A local councillor for the area has said that the circumstances surrounding the death are unclear.
Sinn Féin councillor Aidan Mathers said: "Emergency Services are in attendance at a house in the Clanrye Park area of Newry.
"Circumstances surrounding the sudden death of a woman are unclear at the minute and an we await an update from the PSNI.”
A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a sudden death at a property in the Clanrye Park area of Newry this morning, Thursday 20th March.
"There’s no further detail at this time."
