Injuries were reported, police say
OCALA, Fla. – Ocala said they responded to an “active shooting situation” at the Paddock Mall on Saturday afternoon.
Police said that there are a number of ambulances and a heavy police presence at the mall, which is located at 3100 SW College Road, two days before Christmas – a busy time for holiday shoppers.
News 6 has a crew headed the scene.
OPD is responding to an active shooting situation that occurred at the Paddock Mall. There is a heavy police presence on scene and we will provide more information as it becomes available. Please avoid the area at this time.

The shooting comes on the heels of two separate shootings were reported in Ocala within around an hour of one another on Friday night, according to the police department.
Ocala police asked the public to avoid the area at this time.
