Patrick Kielty is spending Christmas in his hometown of Dundrum this year with his wife Cat Deeley, and their sons, James and Milo,
The family of four have created some special traditions over the years, but hosting dinner at home comes with big responsibility for The Late Late Show presenter.
Patrick told RSVP Live: "We are going to be hosting some of Cat's family as with my two brothers and my mum. The day will probably start civilised with a small number and get progressively bigger as the evening goes on. Then it is just hanging on and seeing how long you last."
The RTÉ star added: "Christmas is always where the tree is, sometimes we have it with Cat's mum and dad and sometimes we have it in Dundrum. This year we are in Dundrum, which means I am smiling about it, but it also means I am organising a bit more.
"It depends on what time the boys get up. If they do their usual, it could be half 4 or 5 o'clock in the morning job. There is normally a walk on the beach and there is normally a trip to the pub down the road. It opens for a couple of hours in the morning to thank their loyal customers."
Christmas Eve also has its own traditions for them. The father of two said: "We always read The Night Before Christmas once we get them tucked in. There is a four in a bed story reading session followed by 'Are you asleep yet?'"
Patrick's stand out Christmas present from over the years was Evil Knievel.
He recalled: "He was a stunt man and daredevil who used to jump over buses and the Grand Canyon. "It was American and the idea of something American turning up in county Down never happened. My dad's sister lived in America, so she got it for me.
"I remember jumping him over the dog. I still miss him!"
