There’s a good chance of rain Monday in Central Florida.
Expect a 60% coverage of rain into the afternoon and early evening, but some showers and storms will begin in Lake, Sumter and Marion counties as early as noon. The rain will move west to east and could be heavy at times, leading to localized flooding.
We will warm to a high of 92 degrees in Orlando.
With the added clouds and rain, temperatures will be close to the average for most of Central Florida rather than well above the average.
At times when don’t have the rain, it will feel like the triple digits.
There’s a 50% coverage of rain Tuesday through Friday.
Pinpointing the tropics
Don is now back to tropical storm status and is a “fish storm” that will not affect land.
Meantime, an area of low pressure moving closer to the Lesser Antilles only has a 20% chance of development over the next two to five days.
Upper-level winds and dry air will keep it from developing very much in the next couple of days.
The next named storm will be called Emily.
Hurricane season runs through November.
