A historic building in Co Down is on the market for the first time in 20 years.
Regent House, a significant piece of Newtownards' history, was originally constructed in 1820 as a residence for Peter Johnston, a prominent local brewer.
The building later served as Regent House School from 1927 until 1962, counting notable figures like Lieutenant-Colonel Robert Blair Mayne among its alumni.

Regent House stands as a testament to 19th century craftsmanship, with sandstone masonry, intricate plasterwork, and grand central staircase all being meticulously preserved.
Today, the building remains a functional space, with the site partially tenanted with current tenants including a coffee shop and several office spaces.
The property is situated in the heart of Newtownards and spans approximately one acre. This includes the original mansion, covering 7,714 square feet over three levels, a 6,274-square-foot retail warehouse.
The site also includes a 50 space pay-and-display car park, and grounds to the west of the landmark building with planning permission for a mews-style development of six dwellings (not affecting the main building).
Regent House is jointly marketed by Paul Ritchie of RHM Commercial and Richard Orr of Simon Brien Residential, with an asking price of £1,200,000. Potential buyers can contact the agents for further details or to arrange a viewing.
