Search underway for missing juvenile hunter who went into water

BLACKFOOT — Bingham County deputies and Search and Rescue personnel are looking for a juvenile who went into the water while hunting, according to a Facebook post from the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office.

The coordinated search effort Wednesday evening is for “a juvenile male that went into the water while hunting with friends and did not come out,” according to the post.

The incident reportedly happened west of the McTucker Ponds area.

The victim’s family has been contacted and is on scene, police said.

“Our staff and the family affected will take all the thoughts and prayers you’re willing to offer,” officials said.

The Sheriff’s Office is not requesting volunteers to help with the search and the public is asked to stay away from the area so personnel can work.
