Emergency services have rushed to a busy city shopping centre after a shopper fell multiple storeys.

South Australia Police and paramedics closed the Myer centre in Rundle Mall, central Adelaide, following the incident.

All employees and customers were evacuated from the centre and a cherry picker - platform crane - was brought in to retrieve the person, the Adelaide Advertiser reports.

The circumstances of the customer's fall are still unknown but the incident is not being treated as suspicious with a SA Police spokesperson describing it as a 'mental health incident'.

More to come.
