Smoke alarm prompts successful escape from burning home, Seminole fire department says

The occupants of a residence near Lake Howell that caught fire Saturday morning were able to make it out safely upon being alerted by smoke detectors, according to the Seminole County Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to Newcastle Court around 5:40 a.m., where pictures later shared by the fire department show the inside of the badly burned home.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was deemed to be electrical.

The fire department in a statement advised that smoke alarms be checked every six months.
