DAYTONA BEACH SHORES, Fla. – A section of South Atlantic Avenue in Daytona Beach Shores was closed Saturday due to a gas leak caused by construction, according to the Daytona Beach Shores Department of Public Safety.

The roadway was closed in both directions from Browning to Moore avenues, the department said on social media at 9:58 a.m.

Drivers were told to avoid the area.
