Space observation offers insight into sustainability of world heritage sites along the Silk Roads

A research team led by Prof. Chen Fulong from the Aerospace Information Research Institute (AIR) under the Chinese Academy of Sciences has been monitoring the Route Network of the Chang'an-Tianshan Corridor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with satellite imagery and deep learning techniques.
