Volunteer civilian dive group reported the vehicle, police say
OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – Orlando police confirmed Sunday that unidentified remains had been found with a vehicle that was submerged in a body of water near where World Drive meets Interstate 4 in Osceola County.
The Florida Highway Patrol had announced hours earlier that the westbound I-4 exit ramp to World Drive was closed as investigators examined the vehicle.
FHP handled the traffic crash investigation as Osceola County deputies and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team assisted, Orlando police said. It was not immediately specified why the Orlando Police Department and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office responded to an Osceola County scene.
The vehicle was reported to law enforcement by a volunteer civilian dive group, according to the police statement.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
