James Bond fans enthusiasts are abuzz with excitement after former 007 Pierce Brosnan spoke about the legendary spy during his stint on The Jonathan Ross Show on Saturday (March 29).

The seasoned actor, aged 71, is admired for his turns as the suave secret agent in hits like 'GoldenEye' (1995), 'Tomorrow Never Dies' (1997), 'The World Is Not Enough' (1999), and 'Die Another Day' (2002), before passing the baton to Daniel Craig.

Quizzed by chat show host Jonathan Ross about potential involvement in future Bond ventures, Brosnan confirmed he's not been in the loop.

Addressing hearsay of possibly portraying a more mature Bond character, Brosnan remarked: "No-one's spoken to me about it. I've heard all of the rumours. Listen, they know where to find me. Let's see where the wind takes us."

He clarified: "It's going to be another man's job. I'm not looking to go there. I'm quite happy with my career. I've done it, it was wonderful. Delightful kind of notion to contemplate.", reports the Express.

In addition, when commenting on buzz that Aaron Taylor-Johnson could step into Daniel Craig’s shoes, Brosnan said: "I think he would make a very fine Bond. He was actually in one of the movies I made called The Greatest."

Brosnan reflected fondly on Aaron's talent: "This young man we cast as 'The Greatest'. He was so impressive then. He just had this charisma, he had this presence... so he would be good. But there's many men on the list I'm sure."

The former James Bond star also modestly reflected on his influence over Daniel Craig's decision to take on the iconic role, saying: "I don't know if I helped Daniel makeup his mind. Daniel is his own man. We talked about that period of time and said, 'Go do it. You've got it, run with it.'".

Despite moving on from the role, Brosnan admitted that Bond remains a significant part of his identity: "I'm recognised. He's with me for life [Bond]. It was great. A magical time in my life."
