A surge of tropical moisture will ramp up the rain coverage across Central Florida
ORLANDO, Fl. – A surge of tropical moisture is expected to filter across the area this afternoon. Light showers are possible during Wednesday morning but after lunch some areas will see pockets of heavy rain.
Rain 1As we go through the afternoon strong to severe thunderstorms are possible.
Severe 1There is either a Marginal or Slight Risk for the area. Storm impacts include: frequent lightning, strong wind gusts between 35-55 mph and 60+ mph with stronger storms, heavy rain leading to localized flooding and can’t rule out an isolated tornado.
Storm ImpactsThe heavy rain is expected to become widespread tonight lasting through early Thursday morning.
Rain 2The ‘Slight Risk’ expands across the area Thursday. A few thunderstorms could produce and isolated tornado or two through the overnight hours.
Severe 2Looking much drier heading into Thursday afternoon.
