Donald Trump ranted about the “whole country” being rigged after he was convicted on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records on Thursday, making him the first former president to be criminally convicted.
“This was a disgrace, this was a rigged trial by a conflicted judge who was corrupt,” he said outside court. “It’s a rigged trial, a disgrace, they wouldn’t give us a venue change... this was a rigged, disgraceful trial. The real verdict is going to be November 5th by the people.”
The 77-year-old showed no visible emotion in court as he sat gloomily at the defense table while the verdict was read, a vaguely doleful expression on his face, according to The New York Times.
