Heavy rain, damaging winds and localized flooding will all be possible this weekend

Saturday 11pm

ORLANDO, Fl. – Wrapping up the work week with stubborn clouds and daytime highs in the lower 70s. There is a low chance for isolated showers but the winds will remain breezy across the area.

A developing Gulf low pressure system is expected to reach the area this weekend. Due to the likelihood of heavy rain, strong gusty winds and the potential for severe weather, Saturday and Sunday are deemed Weather Alert Days.

Severe Threat

Rain chances stay low Saturday morning, but begin to increase to 80% during the afternoon hours. It’ll remain windy with wind gusts increasing through the day into the night.

The strongest winds and widespread heavy rain are expected to develop Saturday night through Sunday morning.

Wind gusts over interior zones are expected to be around 25-35 mph. Coastal zones between 35-45 mph.

Rainfall potential for the weekend: Widespread 2-4 inches of rain. Isolated amounts of 5-7″+ will be possible

Timing: Scattered heavy rain expected to develop after lunch on Saturday.

Widespread rain is expected to develop Saturday night and last into Sunday morning with the strongest wind gusts between 25-45 mph.

The weather should begin to wind down Sunday afternoon with winds still remaining breezy.
