West Belfast schools say no to bullying in impressive street parade

6 months ago 237

A group of schools from West Belfast came together on Tuesday morning for an impressive parade to speak out against bullying.

Pupils from St Gerard's School, St Anne’s School, Good Shepherd School, Glenveagh Special School, and Gaelscoil an Lonnáin joined together for a parade along the Blacks Road to take a stand against bullies.

The annual parade highlights Anti-Bullying Week, with this year's theme of 'Choose Respect' hoping to empower children to do something positive to counter the harm and hurt bullying causes.

Hundreds of children proudly held up their handmade signs with positive messages on them for the parade along the busy West Belfast road. Pupils also played the drums and sang a song created by pupils.

Cars came to a halt on the road, with passersby giving a beep and cheer in support of the boys and girls saying no to bullies.
