Woman shot in shoulder as someone fired into DeLand home, police say

DELAND, Fla. – A woman was shot in the shoulder Thursday as someone fired into her home, according to the DeLand Police Department.

The shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. in the 900 block of Sherwood Drive.

The woman, whose name and age have not been released, was taken to the hospital to be treated.

According to police, this was an isolated incident and not random.

No one is in custody and the department is investigating leads in the case.
