Apple users report iMessage outage

(NEXSTAR) – Thousands of iPhone users reported issues with Apple’s messaging app, iMessage, Thursday afternoon.

Complaints of problems with iMessage began spiking around 2:45 p.m. Pacific Time, according to DownDetector. The outage tracking site also noted issues reported with Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile starting around the same time.

While Apple’s System Status Tracker showed iMessage as still available, users took to X to complain about problems sending text messages and to confirm others were experiencing the same delays.

Apple did not immediately respond to Nexstar’s request for comment and had not posted an update on its social media platforms as of 3:30 p.m. Pacific Time. It was not clear when the issue would be resolved.
