A group of Chinese and Vietnamese nationals suspected of engaging in online financial fraud has been arrested in the Godakanda area within the Poddala Police Division, police said.
According to the Deputy Inspector General’s Office for the Galle District, the suspects were apprehended during a raid carried out at a house in the area.
During the operation, authorities seized a computer, a laptop, and 84 mobile phones believed to have been used in the alleged fraudulent activities.
The raid was conducted based on intelligence received by the Boossa Army Intelligence Unit, with the assistance of officers from the Galle Police.
The suspects have been handed over to the Poddala Police for further investigations.
