Former State Intelligence Chief Suresh Sale, who is currently being held under detention orders, has been admitted to the National Hospital of Colombo following a sudden illness.
Sale is presently in the custody of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), where he has been undergoing questioning.
According to reports, family members had requested permission to visit him and assess his condition. However, approval for such visits has not yet been granted.
He was admitted to hospital yesterday (24) after his health condition was brought to the attention of authorities. A magistrate subsequently reviewed the situation, following which he was referred for medical examination.
Based on medical advice, he was then admitted to the National Hospital of Colombo for further treatment.
