Kia unveiled the EV4, PV5 and EV2 concept at the brand’s 2025 EV Day in Tarragona, Spain, Thursday (local time). The three new models mark the latest phase of Kia’s electrification strategy and underscore its commitment to energizing the global electric vehicle (EV) market.

The PV5, the brand’s first Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) model, demonstrates Kia’s leadership as a PBV first mover, highlighting its expansion into personalized mobility. PBVs are EVs known for their customizable features, allowing customers to personalize vehicles based on their purpose of use.

The EV4, first introduced as a concept in 2023, is Kia’s first electrified sedan and hatchback. It extends the appeal of Kia’s lineup, which includes the award-winning EV9 and EV6, offering innovative features that cater to a diverse range of customers in the C-segment, or midsize, sedan market.

The EV2 concept previews a new B-segment SUV EV, adding to Kia’s growing EV family. Like the EV4, it emphasizes Kia’s efforts to make EVs more accessible, featuring innovations that go beyond its class.

The PV5, shown as a concept at CES 2024, is the first dedicated model from Kia’s new PBV strategy. Built on a platform that integrates advancements in hardware, software, customer experience and manufacturing, the PV5 offers flexibility and radical modularity, playing a key role in transforming the global market and improving customers' lives.

At the event, Kia also provided insight into its EV strategy and how it plans to accelerate and transform the global EV market.

“Kia remains committed to becoming the world’s leading EV brand and provider of sustainable mobility solutions,” Kia President and CEO Song Ho-sung said. “With models like the EV4 and the vision shown in the EV2 concept, we aim to democratize EV ownership, making sustainable mobility accessible to everyone.”

The 2025 Kia EV Day marks the second event of its kind for the brand. It was held in Spain as the country remains significant in Kia’s electrification strategy and the rapid growth of the European EV market.

Kia displayed nine vehicles in total, including the Concept EV2 and four variants of the EV4: two four-door sedans and two five-door hatchbacks. Four variants of the PV5 demonstrated its flexibility: PV5 Cargo, PV5 Passenger, PV5 Wheelchair Access Vehicle and PV5 Crew, a flagship conversion model developed by Kia.
