Korean business delegation led by SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won plans to visit the United States for discussions on bilateral economic cooperation under the second Donald Trump administration, sources said Tuesday.
According to the sources, the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) is currently recruiting delegation members from the country's top 20 conglomerates for the planned trip to Washington from Feb. 19-20.
Chey, who serves as chairman of the KCCI, and Cho Hyun-sang, vice chairman of HS Hyosung, plan to head the team.
The trip is expected to involve meetings with U.S. political and business figures. Key topics will likely cover economic cooperation, universal tariffs for shipments to America and concerns over the suspension of subsidies for chipmakers.
The delegation is expected to seek strategies to mitigate risks for Korean businesses operating in the U.S. amid growing uncertainty in global trade. (Yonhap)
