P&G Korea is drawing attention from households that are increasingly struggling to remove obnoxious odors from clothes, bedding and other household items in winter. The season makes people wear more voluminous and heavier clothing, making it harder to wash off odors. The colder climate can also make it difficult to refresh indoor air by letting in cold wind, a hassle for those wanting to warm up inside.
Febreze has been the company’s signature air freshener throughout different seasons. But the multinational company’s Korean office says the popular item especially works best in winter.
What make odor-freshening difficult in winter are particular materials and fabrics found in winter outfits and indoor furniture like sofas, rugs, bedding and curtains which are hard to wash often. Dry-cleaning is financially burdensome and opening windows and doors to let out odors can be challenging throughout the cold season.
P&G Korea said Febreze works in winter because, instead of covering up by spreading a layer of spray over suspicious areas, it freezes molecules of bad odors to effectively neutralize them. The effect also lasts for 48 hours, an improvement from 24 hours. Febreze also contains Downy fabric softener, giving off the scent of freshly washed items.
“Febreze can be a simple solution when bad odors need to be taken care of fast,” a company official said. “The convenience is especially handy in this year-end season when there are many get-togethers and parties.”
