(NewsNation) — Verizon phone customers across the country are reporting service outages, downdetector.com shows.

As of 10 a.m. CT Tuesday, 91,613 outages were reported, according to the website.

Social media users in Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas and other cities posted about issues they were having on X, with many saying their phones were in "SOS" mode.

"We are aware of an issue impacting service for some customers," Verizon said in a statement. "Our engineers are engaged and we are working quickly to identify and solve the issue."
