(NewsNation) — Users reported outages for social media site X, formerly known as Twitter, with Downdetector.com showing more than 6,000 reports of errors just before 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
X has had a tumultuous run since billionaire Elon Musk purchased the site, instituting major changes to the site’s blue check verification system, adding a tier of paid users and reducing moderation.
The outage appeared to impact the U.S., U.K. and parts of Europe and Asia. Outage reports appeared to slow, with the site coming back for many users with only a brief disruption of service.
