Right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones skipped Friday's trial proceedings in the latest Sandy Hook defamation case brought against him by parents of victims of the 2012 mass shooting

In lieu of appearing in court Jones spent the afternoon live-streaming another episode of his show Infowars, during which he attacked Judge Maya Guerra Gamble and opposing attorneys as shills of the 'New World Order' and encouraged viewers to buy multivitamins and diet pills from his website to help pay his legal fees.

While attorneys questioned witnesses and presented evidence in an Austin district courtroom Friday, Jones told viewers from behind the Infowars anchor desk that the entire trial was part of a nefarious scheme orchestrated by a secret network of evil globalist elites bent on silencing him.

"[New world order members] think that setting me up against kids, in a rigged trial of lies… they think that's the only way they can then demonize the archetypal resistor, the archival populace who's fighting them," Jones said during his Friday live-stream.

He then urged viewers to buy multivitamins and diet pills from his website to help him pay his legal fees from "all these fake lawsuits and rigged courts."

Jones' Friday rant came after his defense attorney concluded Thursday's court proceedings by flipping the middle finger at attorneys for the Sandy Hook parents during an argument on the courtroom floor.

The trial centers on the damages inflicted on a Sandy Hook victim's parents by Jones' relentless peddling of the lie that the mass shooting never actually happened.

Judge Guerra Gamble has already issued a default ruling in favor of the parents that establishes Jones' liability in the current case, after he repeatedly failed to comply with the court's pre-trial discovery process. The trial jury will just decide how much Jones should pay the parents in damages; the parents and their legal team are asking for a $150 million verdict, according to CNN.

Jones' current trial is the latest in a series of defamation lawsuits filed by Sandy Hook victims' parents against the right-wing personality in Connecticut and Texas. Jones has paid out millions in damages and court sanctions so far after losing those cases.

This isn't the first time a judge has issued a default ruling against Jones for flouting court procedure in a Sandy Hook defamation trial; A Connecticut judge also defaulted Jones without trial on the issue of liability in November 2021 for failing to comply with the discovery process in another Sandy Hook defamation case.
