Rumors of a breakup have emerged involving Lee Chan-hyuk, member of the sibling duo AKMU (Akdong Musician), and Saerom of K-pop girl group fromis_9. Both artists, who previously remained silent about earlier dating rumors, have similarly declined to address the recent speculation.
YG Entertainment, Lee Chan-hyuk’s agency, told the media on Tuesday that, “(The breakup rumor) is a private matter, and we cannot confirm it.”
Dating rumors surrounding the two first surfaced in 2022. At the time, YG Entertainment also declined to comment, saying, “It is difficult to verify matters related to our artist’s private life.” Meanwhile, Pledis Entertainment, which used to manage Saerom, made no statement on the matter.
Lee Chan-hyuk debuted as part of AKMU in 2014, earning widespread love for hits such as "200 %," "How can I love the heartbreak, you’re the one I love" and "Nakka." In 2022, he released his first solo studio album, “Error.”
Saerom made her debut with fromis_9, a group formed through the Mnet survival show "Idol School." As of Dec. 31, her exclusive contract with Pledis Entertainment has officially ended.
