The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (Ceypetco) has announced a revision of fuel prices, with the new rates coming into effect from midnight today (21).
According to the latest price adjustment, all major fuel categories have recorded significant increases.
The price of auto diesel has been raised by Rs. 79, bringing the new price to Rs. 382 per litre. Super diesel has seen a sharper increase of Rs. 90, now priced at Rs. 443 per litre.
Petrol prices have also risen, with 92 octane petrol increasing by Rs. 81 to Rs. 398 per litre. Meanwhile, 95 octane petrol has gone up by Rs. 90, reaching Rs. 455 per litre.
Kerosene, commonly used by lower-income households and certain industries, has increased by Rs. 60 and will now be sold at Rs. 255 per litre.
The revised fuel prices are as follows:
- Auto Diesel – Rs. 382 (↑ Rs. 79)
- Super Diesel – Rs. 443 (↑ Rs. 90)
- Petrol 92 Octane – Rs. 398 (↑ Rs. 81)
- Kerosene – Rs. 255 (↑ Rs. 60)
- Petrol 95 Octane – Rs. 455 (↑ Rs. 90)
The CPC stated that the price revision is part of ongoing adjustments in line with global fuel market conditions and domestic economic factors. The increase is expected to have a broad impact on transportation costs and overall cost of living.
