Massive Fuel Hike, Petrol 92 Increased by Rs. 81: Full Breakdown of Price Increases from Today

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (Ceypetco) has implemented a major fuel price revision effective from midnight today, with sharp increases across all key fuel categories.

The most widely used fuel, Petrol 92 Octane, has been increased by Rs. 81, bringing the new price to Rs. 398 per litre.

Other fuel categories have also recorded significant hikes:

Petrol 95 Octane – Increased by Rs. 90, new price Rs. 455 per litre Auto Diesel – Increased by Rs. 79, new price Rs. 382 per litre Super Diesel – Increased by Rs. 90, new price Rs. 443 per litre Kerosene – Increased by Rs. 60, new price Rs. 255 per litre

These increases mark one of the most substantial fuel price adjustments in recent months, reflecting rising global oil prices and continued economic pressures.

The revision is expected to have widespread economic implications, particularly affecting transportation, logistics, and household expenses, as fuel costs directly influence the pricing of goods and services across the country.
