A man who allegedly behaved in a threatening and disorderly manner towards vehicles and pedestrians along the Millawana–Malsiripura road has been remanded until March 31, Police said.
The suspect, a 40-year-old resident of the Akkara 50 area, was arrested by officers attached to the Malsiripura Police.
According to Police, the individual had obstructed the roadway while armed with a machete and had acted aggressively under the influence of alcohol, posing a serious threat to motorists and the general public.
He was produced before the Kurunegala Magistrate’s Court, which ordered that he be remanded in custody until March 31.
